Oceanic Revelations!

Awesome new short film from A Cotton Photo Creative Works. Filmed on Cat Island during Amanda's photography workshop in 2012, this 5 minute video focuses on shark conservation. It features the reactions and attitudes of divers after coming face to face with these pelagic sharks.

25th Anniversary of Shark Week

Epic Diving was thrilled to be involved with the production of How Jaws Changed the World, featured on the Discovery Channel during their 25th anniversary of Shark Week.  The show aired on August 14th, and was an analysis of the movie Jaws and its influence of the pop culture mythology that surrounds sharks.

HHP Productions with Norbert Wu

We were excited to welcome Howard and Michele Hall, and Norbert Wu to Cat Island! We had a perfect week of sharks and the encounters were amazing! One day we were surrounded by 7 large Oceanic Whitetips, only one was male, countless silky sharks, and a few dorado flashing by. The next day, a Blue Marlin came flying out of the deep.

A Week of Sharks & Inspiration

We had an art inspiring week with wildlife sculptor and conservationist Victor Douieb. Captivated by their power, grace and beauty, Victor began sculpting sharks as a means of expressing his appreciation of this perfectly evolved creature's pure simplicity, but also to help bring attention to the impact that overfishing and the needless slaughter by the shark fin industry is posing to shark populations worldwide.

Epic Diving Visits
Cat Island Schools

Each season, Epic Diving is welcomed into the school system on Cat Island to discuss sharks, the marine ecosystem, and ocean conservation. It has been a great opportunity for us to share our passion for not only the Oceanic Whitetips, but also for respecting and understanding the natural environment.

Diving with Shark Angels

We were very excited to dive with a group from Shark Angels, a non-governmental organization which works around the world as a network to bring about change. Globally connected, they raise awareness to the critical issues, change perspectives, and empower and equip advocates to act locally to save sharks.
